The tree of great spirits

This is the tree of great spirits. The tree has five trunks. Wolves of all islands can gather here and peacufuly talk to each other. It is forbbiden to fight near it.

Featherfang came.

- That is the tree of great spirits, - she said and pointed her nose to a big tree with five trunks. - Pack leaders of each island have their own trunks. Pack members gather under the tree. It's forbbiden to fight when you are near this tree, - she explained and then went ahead.

He followed Featherfang.

- If you didn't know yet, every island has it's own scent. Our islands - Eastern islands scent is your own scent. I have the same scent too. At the right time, you will even tell apart which wolves scent of our pack is which. Other islands scent will maybe stink for you, but remember - we stink for them, too. Now let's begin. Sniff that trunk, - she said and pointed to one of the trees trunks.

He sniffed the trunk. Then thought about his mothers scent.
- This scent is kind of familiar, but this isn't our islands scent...

- Very good. It's because this trunk belongs to the Western islands wolf pack leader. She... is my sister. That's wgy it smells familiar to you. Now sniff the other one.

He sniffed the other trunk, which was near Western islands trunk.
- This one... Is our islands!

- Exactly. Now sniff the other one.

Shadow ear sniffed another truk.
- Eww... This one stinks like blood!

- It's because this trunk belongs to Northern islands wolves. Those wolves are killers, so I am not surprised that you smell blood. Now scent the other one.

The student sniffed the other trunk.
- This one smells kind of good... It's smell is totally opposite to Northern islands wolves...

- Yes. This trunk belongs to Southern island. That islands wolves are kind, unlike Northern islands wolves. Go on.

He sniffed the last trunk.
- This one smells strange...

- It belongs to the Central island. Maybe it's because it's the newest island... I remember the day, when that island appeared. Everyone sawed a new island floating in the center. Then everyone ran to look at the tree of greta spirits, and we all sawed the fifth trunk... We decided, that in that island is a wolf pack, too, but even now we don't know much about those wolves...

- That's strange. It looks like the spirits grew that trunk in one day!

- Yes, that's true. Now.. have you memorized all the scents? You need to remember them, because there will be millions of times when you will need them.

Shadow ear quickly remembered all the scents. Then he said:
- I'm done.

- Good. Now let's head back for the second lesson... - she said and went back to the shore.
